Barbara YOUNG

Barbara Ann Young was born March 8, 1949 in Wilmington NC to a beautiful loving woman named Louise Davis. Barbara departed this life to be with the Lord on June 18, 2016.

Barbara (aka Ann) was the only girl out of the 6 children, the oldest and the strongest! She confessed her faith in Christ while attending Union Baptist Church. Barbara had the smile of an Angel. She was well respected and loved by everyone who crossed her path. She also had a divine generosity and hospitality for which she openly displayed to family and friends. Barbara was a Great provider and a Great mother to her 5 children and they loved her unconditionally as she did them.

Barbara cherished her mother who meant the world to her and everyone knew they were the best of friends in life-for life! She spent many day and nights talking on the phone with her mother and when they were together, they were both so happy. (No one or nothing could ever break their bond.

Barbara became sick with Diabetes and from there on she fought continuously against other serious and deadly illnesses. For many years she struggled with her health but kept fighting and fighting until recently when her health got the best of her and there was too little of a fight left. We know she lived her life to the fullest and it was time for the pain to go away forever. Now she's at peace, dancing all around heaven. BLESS HER HEART! For she enjoyed listening to Gospel music, singing her praises and a little two stepping when she could and boy she'd get down too.

Barbara will be greatly remembered, greatly missed and the memories of her will live on FOREVER!

Barbara was preceded in death by her youngest brother John Wayne Jones and her oldest brother Alvin Louis Jones, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories and loving heart mother Louise Davis; three brothers Michael L. Jones, Raymond E. Jones and Donald Lee Jones; her five beautiful children Darin K. Martin, Tonya D. Thomas, Curtis L. Martin, Yvette Martin Johnson and Yvonne M. Martin; fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren along with a host of other loving family members and friends.
