Blossie FRIERSON

Mrs. Blossie Frierson, age 85 went home with the Lord on February 16, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born on May 25th,1930 in Anguilla, Mississippi to the late Roosevelt and Rosie Drakes. Blossie moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1953 after marrying her late husband Albert Frierson. Once she moved to Dayton she became a lifelong member of Corinthian Baptist Church. She worked at Joe Frank Poultry and later did housekeeping until she retired.

Blossie was a devoted mother to her son, Terry and a loving, caring grandmother. . She loved spending time with her family and was a wonderful inspiration to her son and granddaughters and to others who met her. Blossie as she was affectionately known loved gardening.

She was known around the neighborhood for her beautiful flower garden. If you had a flower that was not doing well she was just the person to ask how to revive it. In her later years she resided at Cypress Pointe where she enjoyed the various activities such as bingo, the auction, happy hour and a list of other recreational activities.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Roosevelt and Rosie Drakes, husband Albert Frierson, siblings Mary Drakes Postway, Isaiah Drakes, Roosevelt Drakes Jr. ,Louise Drakes Barfield, daughter-in law Elaine Frierson. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted son, Terry, two granddaughters, Terri and Ashley, devoted sister Flora Leroy, special nephew Dr. Gary Leroy ,special friend AJ Morris, and host of other relatives and friends.

Blossie will be greatly missed, but we will remember the way she made us laugh, her warm personality and willingness to serve others. Our love for her will endure forever and we will take comfort in knowing she is in God's loving arms.
