Charles JOHNS

Charles Edward Johns was born on March 17, 1964 in Columbus, Ohio to the union of the late Joseph and Lessie Mae Johns who preceded him in death.

In his early years Charles enjoyed spending his time doing whatever adventure came his way. Growing up in a small suburb of Cincinnati, known as Hollydale, he spent his youth exploring the woods, creeks, dams, spillways, play fields and sewer system tunnels trying to discover shortcuts to the other surrounding neighborhoods.

His interests included reading, as well as athletics. In high school he was involved in wrestling and baseball but outside of school his primary interests were jogging, biking and swimming.

After graduating from Princeton High School in 1982, Charles attended Tuskegee University in Alabama where he pledged the OMEGA PSI PHI FRATERNITY in the fall of 1984. After deciding to return to Cincinnati, Charles joined the US ARMY for a short term. After the completion of his term of service he earned a degree in Electronics as well as Computer Technology. Charles decided to make Arlington, Texas his home after leaving Cincinnati, where he worked until his health would no longer permit him to do the things he loved most. Although Charles never married or started a family, he felt he had led a full life and made his peace with God.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory: His sister Marcella Denise McMillan (Terence), stepmother Frances Johns, four step sisters, Tassy Dia, Cynthia Talbert, Pamela Jackson and Charmagne Robinson; seven nieces Kiara McMillan, Mariah McMillan, Imani McMillan, Tasha Rollins (Rashaad), Kamiya Young, Auri Rollins and Renee Robinson; six nephews Kevin Young, James Talbert Jr, Virgil Adam Talbert, Michael Robinson, Daniel Franklin and Brandon Franklin along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Special friend Phyllis Murray and the biggest hearts of Texas: Marvin Beck, Phillip Gibson and Andre Ellick. To all his OMEGA PSI PHI FRATERNITY brothers Charles said he loved you all, you were family!

Bless the Lord with all my soul. Amen.
