David MEYER

David Meyer, (Sonny) 68 years of age, formerly of Newport, Kentucky passed away unexpectedly in Blanchester, Ohio on Sunday, December 20, 2015 He was born into this world on February 12, 1947. He was a student at St. Frances de Sales Church and a Graduate of Newport Catholic Class of 1966. He leaves a legacy of “Never knowing a stranger”. He worked for Wiedeman Brewery in Newport and later was a driver in Ohio. Also worked for Lance Crackers and later on in life he was a driver for TANK. He is also well known for referring basketball games for high school and at the armory. David was responsible for USSSA umpires in the Northern Kentucky area for many years. Him and his daughters also had a business Bartending by Dave and Daughters. He is preceded in death by his Mother: Geraldine Matherly. He is survived by his daughters and son: Patty Meyer of Price Hill, Carla and Jeff Herre of Norwood. His granddaughters: Tori and Erin Herre of Norwood His father: Carl Matherly of Blanchester, formerly of Newport. His Sister and brother-in-law Betty and Wayne West of Blanchester; his Brother and Sister-in-law Butch and Carol Meyer of Webster, Florida. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children & many cousins and friends that were very special to him and his family. Visitation and Catholic Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Holy Spirit Parish (old St. Stephen’s) 825 Washington Ave, Newport, Kentucky. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm and will go up till the time of Mass beginning at 2:30pm.
