Derike Peterson

Mr. Derike Lamont Peterson (Affectionately known as Magoo), age 43, passed away peacefully on 26 March 2015.

Derike touched the lives of many through his lifetime and could bring a smile to anyone's face. Although his life was short, he lived it to the fullest, enjoying and cherishing every moment. Derike was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, a superior angler, and he loved spending time with family. Although his body began to resign to cancer, his determined spirit led him to fight a courageous battle before he passed away.

Derike was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Charlie Springfield and Mrs. Carole J. Peterson-Springfield, aunt Betty Murphy, and nephew Da'Quan Nooks. Derike leaves his legacy of love to a loving and devoted wife Jautassa Peterson (4) special and beloved sisters: Felicia and Tanya Peterson, Connie and Christine Saylor; (3) special and treasured brothers: James, William, and Phillip Peterson; (4) special children: Jau'Tasia, Jerald II, Jerrell, Desmond; (6) grand children: Serenity, Jerald II, Jau'Mauria, Demondre, Markell, Zurrion; Mother-In-Law: Mattie Williams; (6) Sister-In-Laws: Lois, Denise, Stacy Williams, Barbara Halley-Peterson, Delora Morrow, Kenyatta (Robert) Pernell; (3) Brother-In-Laws: Joseph, Charles, James (Yoolonda)Williams; Aunts, Claretha Roach, Lynette Gathers, Christine Peterson, Berlena Gullett. Derike is also survived by and will be deeply missed by a host of aunts, uncles, many nephews, nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom were special to him.
