Diana BANKS

Diana Lynn (Lucas) Coleman – Banks, 68, of Kentucky, passed away on March 3, 2016 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM on March 13, 2016 at Westwood United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Lee Strawhun officiating.

Diana was born at St. Luke Hospital in Covington, KY to Charles and Audria (Ravenscraft) Lucas on June 25, 1948. She attended high school at Campbell County Senior High school and college at University of Kentucky.

Her first marriage was to Rodney Coleman of Kentucky and her second marriage was to Jeremiah Banks of Alabama.

She retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 20 years of service. Diana then went on to work an additional 4 years with Macy’s Credit and Customer Services.

Diana was an active member of Westwood United Methodist Church. She served in the WUMC Women’s Group, My Neighbor’s Place Ministry, Children’s’ Sunday School ministry, and took on a host of other voluntary service opportunities through the church.

She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and friend. Family meant the world to her and she took so much joy in spending time with all of them.

Diana was an amazing cook. Her homemade dinners and desserts fed and comforted many, many people over the years. You were always welcome at her table and her face would light up to see you enjoy her culinary creations. There wasn’t a dish she attempted that was unsuccessful, and there wasn’t a person who’d eaten her cooking that didn’t come back for a second helping.

She had many other talents like drawing, painting, singing, sewing, and professional cake decorating. Diana was a creative artist as well as a very intelligent person. She was a straight “A” student from Kindergarten through her senior year in high school. No need to “Google it”, rest assured she knew the answer.
Diana believed in living life to the fullest today because Jesus didn’t promise us tomorrow. She was a notorious champion for the underdog, no matter what the circumstance. She believed we all fell down sometimes and needed a hand to help us get up, dust off, and keep going.

Above all, she was a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, an inspiration when you were down, and a faithful servant of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. WWJD…look to the way Diana lived her life and treated others and you’d have that answer.

Diana is preceded in death by her mother Audria (Ravenscraft) Lucas and her father Charles Lucas.

Diana is survived by her sister Nancy (Lucas) Kouns, her brother David Lucas and sister-n-law Patricia Lucas, her daughter Angela Coleman, her son Calvin Banks, her son Shawn Banks, her granddaughter Miya (Coleman) Barksdale, her granddaughter Cabria Banks, her granddaughter Stella Banks, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Memorials may be given to Westwood United Methodist Church Women’s Group or Westwood United Methodist Church’s Neighbor’s Place Ministry.

The family of Diana wishes to extend a special thanks to David Chester Jr., Tonya Harrison, and Amanda Cross for being comforters to her children in the midst of the storm. May blessings follow you all of your days?
