Dorothy ASTIN

Dorothy Mae Hines-Astin, age 73, was born December 30th, 1941 in Fairburn Ga, to the late Jessie Lee Sr. and Mattie Mae Hines. She was a graduate of Fairburn High school. Dorothy moved to Dayton, Ohio at an early age; she worked various jobs including her favorite, The Meadowdale Elementary, where she worked as a first grade teacher's assistant to Mrs. Robin Ratliff, for over twelve years.

Dorothy was a lifetime, faithful and devoted member of First Baptist Church-Ridgewood, where she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and served on the Mother's board.

She was known for her strong, yet loving personality and undeniable love for her family and friends.

The Lord called Dorothy home on Sunday October 25th. She was preceded in death by her parents Jessie Lee and Mattie Mae Hines; two brothers James Edward Hines and Jessie (Buddy) Lee Hines Jr.; and one brother in law Larry Elder.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory two daughters Melissa (Randy) Williams and Gail Astin, (Edward Barber); one brother Leroy Hines Sr.; two sisters Permelia Rainey and Yvonne Elder; eight grandchildren Chawnsae, Nykiha', Chloe, Kenneth, Shatel, Antonna, Benjamin and Jimmy; twenty-five great-grandkids; three great-great grandkids; special friends Jackie Nichols, Patricia Jones, Ms. Marry of Atlanta, Ga.; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family too numerous to mention.

Dorothy will be deeply missed by all who loved her, and will always be in our hearts.
