Jessie FOSTER, II
Jessie Lawrence Foster, II was born February 8,
1946 to the union of Eloise Smelly and the late Jessie Foster,
Sr. He departed this life on February 26, 2014.
He was baptized as a young boy. On October 11, 1989 Jessie was
united in Holy Matrimony to Sandra Foney.
A true outdoorsman, Jesse was an avid golfer and loved to hunt
and fish. He was known for his creativity in the kitchen as well
as on the grill. He proudly created his secret recipe barbecue
sauce which won awards throughout South Florida.
A skilled painter for decades, Jesse owned two successful painting
companies, Buckeye Painting and Foster & Sons Painters.
Jesse took pride in spending time with his family
and friends. He was especially attentive to the needs of his mother.
Jesse put family above all things and on several occasions, he
warmly opened his home to family members in need. To many of his
nieces and nephews he was a beloved and much needed male presence
and caring father figure.
Jessie graduated from Withrow High School and later received a
degree from Norfolk College. He was a Vietnam Navy Veteran. He
continued his career in the Navy Reserve for over a decade. He
was a hard worker, and often worked three jobs to support his
family. He worked at GE, the Fernald Plant, Florida International
Airport, Hamilton County Board of Developmental Disabilities,
and was a contractor for metropolitan housing.
Survivors include his wife Sandra Foster; his beloved sons Jessie
L Foster, III (Tiffany), James Lance Foster (Kayann), Johnathan
Foster; and Jason Foster who proceeded him in death; his mother
Mrs. Eloise Smelly; and he is also survived by his step children
Lavinia Marshall (David), Kimberly Magette (Orlando), Deron Lear
(Marla) and Rodney Lear (Gwendolyn); 13 Grandchildren; 9 Great
Grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends are invited to a Visitation (10a)
and Funeral (11a) - Thursday, March 6, 2014 at New Prospect Baptist
Church, 1829 Elm St. Cincinnati, OH 45202.
