Kim NEWELL

KIM LARUE NEWELL was born on January 2, 1956, in Somerset, Kentucky, the oldest child of the late John Robert Newell and Oreida (McDaniel) Newell.

KIM moved to Indianapolis, Indiana at the age of 5. He attended Indianapolis Public Schools, where he excelled in academics and sports, graduating from Shortridge High School. KIM joined the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Haleakala. He was honorably discharged in 1975.

KIM secured employment at General Electric and the United States Postal Service. He also trained as an Emergency Medical Technician. His most recent employer was the Veterans Administration.

KIM was very family oriented. He enjoyed hosting holiday dinners and spending time with loved ones. He also enjoyed carpentry and masonry work.

KIM was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Archie Kahn Newell, Brian Kelly Newell and sister, Portia Stevenson Loveless.

KIM will surely be missed and remembered. Joyful memories of him will forever remain in the hearts of his family: wife, Catherine Newell; daughter, Kesha (Eric) Lusain; son, Jason (Genira) Newell; stepdaughters, Jaime Smith and Tenisha Vaden; stepsons, Jamarr Smith and Tarell Vaden; brothers, Gregory Michael (Sherlene) Newell, John Newell, Steve Newell and Shawn Newell; sister, Michele S. (Jeff) Watznauer; uncle, Roy McDaniel; aunts, Madeline Perossier, Betty Beene, Evelyn Fowler, Margaret Bryant and Anna Newell; sisters-in-law, Kay Newell, Jannice Newell; many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other beloved family and friends.
