King ROSS

ROSS, KING DAVID, was born October 23, 1935, to Henry Ross and Lovie (Thweatt) Ross, in Lagrange, Georgia. Recently, King accepted Christ as his Savior. On January 10, 2016, he departed this life to be in peaceful rest in his new home.

King left LaGrange, Georgia, his native home to come to Dayton, Ohio, to pursue job opportunities over fifty years ago. He had an exceptional love for Dayton.

King loved playing golf and baseball and was skilled in both sports, in addition, he was a competent historian in both sports.

While he was preceded in death by his father, Reverend Henry Ross, and his mother, Reverend Lovie Ross; his six brothers and five sisters.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his only child, Sonja V. (Marcus, Sr.) Johnson; two grandchildren: Saria Monique Johnson and Marcus Jr. (Aisha) Johnson; three great-grandchildren: Jayden, Jaylen and Kailyn, all of River Rouge, Michigan: A host of nieces to numerous to list, with a special niece whom he care for and she care for him, Mary Joyce Thompkins; a host of nephews, with a special nephew, Joe Ross, who spent much of his time caring for King.

Finally, a special thanks to those who gave exceptional care and love to King in his final days, at the Forest View Nursing Center: a special nurse, Markie, along with the very competent and capable staff. The family loves you for your dedicated work.
