Lafayette CHRISTIAN, III

Lafayette E. Christian, III, affectionately known as "Chris" age 67, departed this life at Miami Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born on November 23, 1947, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Lafayette Christian Jr., and Irene Smith-Patterson. The oldest of 6 children, Chris was a lifelong resident of Dayton, Ohio, and a graduate of Dunbar High School Class of 66. While taking classes at Central State University, Chris decided to join the military, where he dedicated over 7 years of service to the United States Air Force.

Chris was a devoted father and grandfather and spent most of his time among family and was a wonderful inspiration to his family who adored him. His unexplainable zest and larger than life personality always made him the Life of the party. Chris Loved the Lord, Loved his family, and could cook some mean BBQ ribs and pound cake. Chris will be greatly missed, be we will remember the way he made us laugh and his warm personality. Our love for him will endure forever, and we will take comfort knowing he's in Gods loving arms.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Lafayette Christian Jr., and Irene Smith-Patterson; devoted stepfather, William Patterson; 4 aunts, Clemmie Smith, Ruby Chase, Eloise Webb, and Pearl House; 2 uncles, Clifford and Thomas Smith.

Chris is survived by his loving sons and daughters; devoted son Lafayette (Lisa), devoted daughter Yvonne (Mother Kay Jones), loving daughter Nicole Christian, devoted stepson Sampson Jones, and 1 Goddaughter Tracie Brown; 8 loving grandchildren, Jalen, Lauren, Jadon, Ilena, Alissa, Amir, Sampson Jr., and Derrick Jr.; 1 uncle, Tyrone (Sheila); 4 sisters, Janice Pinson, Betty Smith (Larry), Sandra McGruder, and Cynthia Christian; 1 brother, Alfred Christian; Chris's Sugah/Ex-wife and mother of his oldest child, lifelong friend Margaret Booze; dear friend, Renee Hatch "Na Na"; special friend, Bill Guiton (Tina); lifelong friends, Tracy Brown and Ferguson; along with a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.
