Lorena BARBER
Sister Lorena Barber was born September 2, 1918
in Lawrenceburg, Indiana to Sidnellar and Harrison Todd. She had
3 brothers and 4 sisters, her parents and siblings all preceded
her in death. Sister Lorena married Fred Green and to this union
they had a son Harold Lee Green. Harold Lee blessed her with 7
grandchildren: Ricky, Fred, Darnell, Pam, Mark, Tim, and Jaylynn.
Sister Lorena raised Fred and Darnell after the
death of her son. Her husband preceded her in death. Sister Lorena
has several great-grandchildren and great- great- grandchildren.
Sister Barber then married Phil Ellis Barber and he also preceded
her in death. Sister Lorena lived most of her life in Kentucky.
Sister Barber moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 2001. She made Zion
Temple First Pentecostal Church her home she was baptized and
filled with the precious Holy Ghost.
Sister Barber was a faithful member. She would come
to service on Sunday's and enjoy the Lord's word until last year
when her health started to fail... But that didn't stop her. Sister
Barber requested a bulletin every Sunday from her special niece
Alice Netter. Sister Alice Netter was her go to person for all
her personal needs and care. Sister Lorena always spoke highly
of her favorite niece Kathleen Clark and nephews Larry and Ronnie
Todd. They never missed her birthday nor Christmas spending time
with her and baring gifts, Sister Barber loved them so. She appreciated
their acts of kindness and love. Sister Lorena loved family and
enjoyed being around them.
Sister Lorena had a strong will and mind, she would
speak whatever was on her mind. At the age of 95 she still knew
her family and could remember things from yester years and yesterday.
She leaves to cherish grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews,
other family members and friends...
The family invites friends to a Visitation (11a)
and Funeral (12p) on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Zion Temple Pentecostal
Church, 3771 Reading Rd. Cincinnati, OH.
