Georgia Lee Johnson MARCHBANKS

82, went home to The Lord on Saturday evening, February 20, 2016, after a courageous years-long battle against failing health. A private, kind and dignified woman, she lived her life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by parents Rozema Wells Johnson and George Johnson, her lifelong love and husband Elmer Marchbanks, Sr., children Christopher and Cynthia (Crump), sisters Minnie (Metcalfe), Henrietta (Monroe), Juanita (Marlin) and Rosa (Johnson), and her brothers Toll, Oliver, Counsel, Willie and Samuel.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory include sister Vola (Waller), daughters Catherine (William) Taylor, Josephine (Ronald, Sr.) Barnett, sons Elmer "El" Marchbanks, Jr. and Jack (Alice Flowers) Marchbanks, grandchildren Ronald Barnett, Jr., Tianna Crump, Kaleena Marchbanks, Jasmine (Larry) Blake, Frank Crump III, Catherine "Sparkle" Taylor and Deion Taylor, great granddaughters Aaliyah, Ron'nae and Jai'El, and a host of nieces, nephews and caring friends.

A celebration of Georgia's life will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016, at 11 am at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 401 S. Paul Laurence Dunbar Street in Dayton, Ohio, with Pastor Xavier L. Johnson. Family will receive friends 10 am until time of service. Interment Jeffersonview Cemetery.
