Mary PARHAM
Mary Frances Davis Parham was born on August 20,
1929 in Cottonton, Alabama to Eldora Newsome Davis and Lawrence
Davis. Mary Frances was the youngest of 12 children (all her siblings
preceded her in death). She moved to Cincinnati, OH in 1938 where
she lived with her brother Charlie Davis and his family.
In 1950 Mary Frances joined in holy matrimony to
Bradford Theopolis Jeneal Parham. From their union was born 5
children Larry, Lynette, Darrell, Deborah, (who preceded her in
death), and Denise.
Mary Frances came to know Jesus as her Savior as
teenager and later rededicated her life to Christ at Second Baptist
Church under Pastoral leadership of Herbert Holmes. She later
joined Corinthian Baptist Church under the Pastoral leadership
of Kazava Smith where she served as a member of the United Choir
and the Missionary Society until her health began to fail. Her
serving was not confined to the to the Church only but she would
present fruit baskets to those having a hard time during the holidays
and from her kitchen she fed many hungry people. Mary Frances
would have a listening ear and a word of wisdom to share with
whoever made their need known.
Mary Frances was a loving Mother, a faithful friend
and a caring neighbor. All who knew her would say she was a very
strong willed person who wanted to do what was right. She worked
at University Hospital for over 20+ years, starting off in the
dietary department and retiring as a unit clerk in the ER. She
loved to sing the hymns and would strike up a tune at the drop
of a hat. Even while in the hospital battling pneumonia you could
hear her singing as you approached her room. If you would sit
with her long enough you would hear her talking about how good
God had been to her and if He called her today it would be fine.
On April 1, 2014 God called Mary Frances and she closed her eyes
in death and opened them in the presence of the Most High.
She leaves to mourn her death and cherish her memory
Norman (Gwen) Parham, Larry Parham, Lynette Crosby, Darrell Parham
and Denise Cargile. Three grandchildren Nicole Parham, Phillip
Cargile II, and Elizabeth Cargile. Her eldest niece Fannie Johnson
of Phoenix City, AL and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives
and friends.
Friends and Family are invited to the Visitation
(9am) and Funeral (10am) on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Peace
Baptist Church, 652 Rockdale Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229.
