Richard HERITZ

Richard J. “Dick” Heritz, 89 of West Chester Ohio went home to be with the Lord Thursday morning, December 25, 2014 at West Chester U.C. Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Richard was born July 10, 1925 in Clifton, Ohio. The only child to Joseph and Anna (nee Schneider) Heritz .

In his youth he lived in Clifton until his family moved to Norwood, Ohio. There he graduated in 1943 from Norwood High School. He was recruited by the Navy in 1943 and served until the end of World War II with many honors. Returning home, he went back to school to study commercial art at the Cincinnati Central Art Academy. After graduation, he was hired as an artist for the General Electric Company in 1951. There he became a manager for the art department until his retirement in 1987. During this time, he met his wife to be, Jean (nee Chalmers Beal) who worked as a secretary for his boss. Richard and Jean were Married on April 10, 1954. They were married 60 years.

Richard enjoyed many hobbies from photography, graphic art to playing golf most weekends with his wife, family and co-workers. Golf was a sport he truly enjoyed and played well, but his true passion was his Lord. Richard loved the Lord and his church family. He and his wife attend the Montgomery Assembly of God.

Richard is survived by his wife Jean (nee Beal) and daughter Jeanne Ann Heritz of Cincinnati along with 9 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Susan and granddaughter Anna.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 am. Saturday, January 24th at the Montgomery Assembly of God. Pastor Bittenger officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Assembly of God. Please share condolences or memories of Richard with his family at
