Ronald was baptized at the Shiloh Seventh-day Adventist church where he was a member of the choir. One of the things he enjoyed most was prayer meeting and the opportunity to fellowship with other members of the Adventist family.

Ronald spent many years in the construction industry. One of Ronald's most gratifying experiences was constructing the Newport Aquarium before it's opening in 1999. Ronald was also intrigued by the culinary industry as well. He embarked on a journey to learn more about the field. He completed the Cincinnati Cooks program in January, 2004.

Ronald's first love was music; he spent his spare time writing, singing, and recording his thoughts and ideas creating songs that reflected his love of God. Ronald spent countless hours putting his words onto tape.
In 2002 he married his childhood sweetheart the late Eleanor Smartt-Blassingame. Upon entering this union he gained a step-daughter Laila O'Neal which he loved and raised as his own.
