Yvonne HAYES

On September 2, 2015, the Lord called home one of his most precious angels. Yvonne "Yoni" Zanetta Hayes was born August 19, 1972, to Nondis Jane Wright and Gerald Poindexter. She was adopted as a young girl and loved by her father Ernest William Wright as if she was his own. It was in fact the universal love that others had for Yoni that helped to bring Nondis and Ernie together 33 years ago.

From her big personality to her contagious laugh, anyone who met her knew what a special woman she was. Yoni had a kind, funny and welcoming spirit with an unsurpassable zeal for life. Yoni never knew a stranger and was an immediate friend to all she encountered.

Yoni was an artistic soul expressing herself through drawing, painting, pottery and her personal style. From her bright lipsticks, to her festive clothing, her many tinkling, clanging bracelets and bangles and even her voice at times-- Yoni lived life out loud. Her beautiful bright eyes were reflections of her soul as well as her emotions, often changing color with her temperament.

Yoni's everyday life was a testament to God's grace and her insurmountable will. Although most of her life was beset with medical challenges, Yoni never succumbed to doctors or for that matter- anyone else's expectations for her life. She remained a brave, iron-willed woman, throughout her life as well as final months.

Yoni grew up encircled by and enveloped in the love of a large, tight- knit extended family and will be deeply missed. Yoni is survived by her loving mother and father, Ernest and Nondis Wright; sisters, Jennie Faith and Elizabeth Renee Wright; grandmother Anna L. Hayes; doting Uncle James Brown and fiancee' Theresa Hughes; Aunt Peggy Terry ; her best friend/beloved cousins, James Brown, Jr. and Sonja Brown; Godparents Brenda and Ronald Allen; Uncles Raymond Wright, Michael Wright, Isiah (Teresa) Wright; cousins Ricky, Douglas and Shelly Terry, Kauvon Brown, Keith Andrews, Kimberly Peek, Donysha Brown, Kaprice Brown; niece Siri Imani Huey; nephew Roman David Wiley ; godbrother Logan Allen
